![]() That's not to say you can't have one or two more dynamic or eclectic compositions on your album project - that's totally okay - but the album, in general, should be fairly representative of the name Whisperings. The album must contain your original piano compositions.Due to licensing restrictions, we cannot play cover tunes, only original music that YOU composed and own the copyright to. We do occasionally also play public domain works (i.e. Christmas, Traditional and Classical tunes), but we will only include public domain works from an artist who already has original music on the broadcast (so no Christmas/Holiday/Hymn album submissions unless you are already a Whisperings artist with songs from an album of your original works in rotation). If your album contains two or three cover songs, but the rest of the album is original, we will still consider the project based on those original tracks. The less original music on the album, the less likely it is we'll use it. as our emphasis is on contemporary original composition, we are no longer accepting albums that are made up entirely of classical piano works.Your music must be available on both Apple Music/iTunes AND Spotify for purchase and/or streaming. If our visitors love your music, they'll want to purchase your albums and/or downloads or stream more of your music via Spotify, Apple Music or elsewhere. We encourage listeners to do that, and even promote specific Spotify playlists and so, to that end, your music must be available on both services.Your recording must SOUND professional.Just about anyone can record a "solo piano" album on their home keyboard these days. While we have nothing against keyboards, Whisperings radio features a rich acoustic piano sound. If your album was recorded on a digital piano, we'll still consider it, as we understand some of those samples are REALLY GOOD now. Just know that we do prefer a genuine acoustic piano sound and that we will pass on an album if it sounds too digital or synthetic. Orchestration or "sounds" are added throughout. The album doesn't fit our quiet, peaceful format. So, if you are looking for some calming yet inspiring solo piano Christmas music, this is a great choice! Christmas Whisperings 2 is available from, Amazon, and iTunes. If you're pounding on the piano, we won't use it. There is also a companion sheet music book that can be purchased as a printed spiral-bound book or as a downloaded PDF. The artists are Brad Jacobsen, David Nevue, Michele McLaughlin, Joseph Akins, Joe Bongiorno, Thad Fiscella, Tim Glemser, Jeff Bjorck, Joe Yamada, Kendra Logozar, Louis Landon, Rhonda Mackert, Greg Starr, John Albert Thomas, and Gary Girouard. All of the songs are given the artists’ interpretations, but they are all recognizable and true to the traditional melodies with a few artistic changes here and there.Īll fifteen tracks on Christmas Whisperings 2 are outstanding, so it doesn’t seem fair to single out just a few to write about. This is the perfect music for a holiday meal, decorating the tree, wrapping gifts, or just settling down with a cup of hot cocoa (or a glass of wine!) and letting things “be” for an hour or so. Designed to be a peaceful and soothing collection, there is no bravado or pianistic flashiness, just beautiful, sensitively-played Christmas music coming from a diverse group of pianists playing favorites from the heart. Instead, it is unified by the use of one excellent piano, creating a smoothly-flowing listening experience rather than a hodge-podge. (Two of the songs are brand-new and haven’t been released previously.) That might not sound like a big deal, but it is - pianos vary tremendously in tone, brightness, and expressiveness, so if all of the tracks were recorded on different pianos, there would be a change from piece to piece. ![]() ![]() What keeps this from being a “normal” compilation with one track from each artist’s Christmas album is that all of the music was recorded at Piano Haven Studio in Sedona, AZ on Joe Bongiorno’s Shigeru Kawai SK7L acoustic grand, making the sound quality of the piano consistent from song to song. Christmas Whisperings 2 is the second album produced by (a Whisperings Solo Piano Radio partner site) featuring fifteen independent artists from around the country who are part of the Whisperings Solo Piano Radio group.
